1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using TrustedPractice ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.
2. Description of Service
TrustedPractice provides a website building and management platform specifically designed for UK legal professionals, including solicitors, barristers, and law firms.
3. Account Registration
3.1 Account Creation
- You must provide accurate, complete, and current information
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
- You must be at least 18 years old to create an account
- One account per legal practice or firm
3.2 Account Security
- You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
- We are not liable for losses due to unauthorized use of your account
4. Subscription and Payment
4.1 Free Trial
- 14-day free trial with full access to all features
- No credit card required for trial
- Trial automatically ends after 14 days unless you subscribe
4.2 Paid Subscriptions
- Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance
- All fees are in British Pounds (GBP)
- Prices are subject to change with 30 days' notice
- No refunds for partial months or unused time
4.3 Payment Processing
- Payments processed securely through Stripe
- You authorize us to charge your payment method
- Failed payments may result in service suspension
4.4 Cancellation
- Cancel anytime before your next billing cycle
- Service continues until the end of the paid period
- No refunds for early cancellation
- Data retained for 30 days after cancellation
5. Acceptable Use
5.1 Permitted Uses
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms, including:
- Creating and managing your legal practice website
- Displaying accurate information about your practice
- Complying with SRA and other regulatory requirements
5.2 Prohibited Uses
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Violate any UK laws or regulations
- Infringe intellectual property rights
- Upload malicious code or viruses
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems
- Harass, abuse, or harm others
- Provide false or misleading information
- Impersonate another person or entity
- Share account credentials with others
6. Content
6.1 Your Content
- You retain ownership of content you upload
- You grant us a license to host, display, and deliver your content
- You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to all content
- You must comply with data protection laws (GDPR, UK GDPR)
6.2 Professional Responsibility
- You are responsible for ensuring content complies with SRA Code of Conduct
- You must maintain client confidentiality
- You must not make misleading or unsubstantiated claims
6.3 Content Removal
We reserve the right to remove content that:
- Violates these Terms
- Infringes intellectual property rights
- Is illegal, harmful, or offensive
- Violates professional conduct rules
7. Intellectual Property
7.1 Our Property
The Service, including design, features, and software, is owned by TrustedPractice and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws.
7.2 Limited License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your legal practice website.
8. Service Availability
8.1 Service Level
- We aim for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access
- Scheduled maintenance will be announced in advance when possible
- We are not liable for downtime or service interruptions
8.2 Modifications
We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue features with notice
- Update the Service to improve performance
- Change pricing with 30 days' notice
9. Data and Backups
- We perform daily automated backups
- You are responsible for maintaining your own backups
- We are not liable for data loss
- Data export available at any time
10. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TrustedPractice shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or business opportunities.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold TrustedPractice harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
12.1 Termination by You
You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us.
12.2 Termination by Us
We may suspend or terminate your account if you:
- Violate these Terms
- Fail to pay subscription fees
- Use the Service in a way that harms our business or other users
12.3 Effect of Termination
- Your website will be taken offline
- Data will be retained for 30 days
- You may export your data before termination
- No refunds for unused subscription time
13. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
14. Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute, we encourage you to contact us first to seek an amicable resolution. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, you agree to submit to binding arbitration in England.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
17. Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and TrustedPractice regarding the Service.
